Service - Our Responsibility
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1965 to manage the water and sewerage sector of Trinidad and Tobago. An essential component of this mandate is the delivery of a safe, reliable and efficient water supply to satisfy the demand of domestic and industrial customers. But whilst over the ensuing years there has been a steady increase in demand, there has not been the commensurate investment in infrastructure and the identification of alternative sources of supply, specifically targeting the industrial sector. WASA's future operations must also be viewed in the broader context of Government's developed nation status agenda. Inherent to the Vision 2020 imperative, is the requirement for the population to have access to a reliable and high quality water supply on a 24/7 basis. It is against this backdrop, that WASA is undertaking a comprehensive re-engineering of its operations.
