Celebrating our work force, our achievements... and our vision for the future
(1965-2005) |
On December 4, the Authority launched its 40th anniversary celebrations (1965-2005) with a call for employees to use the Authority's Strategic Plan as a 'road map' to guide them in achieving the vision for the future.
"That vision," said Chief Executive Officer Errol Grimes,
"is designed to accomplish, and ultimately ensure that WASA achieves Vision 2020 status by providing the population with reliable water and wastewater services on a 24/7 basis."
The CEO was speaking at the function incorporating the unveiling of the 40th Anniversary Logo, a Christmas Tree Lighting and blessing of a
Crèche of the Nativity.

He gave a capsuled history of WASA, developments in water production and wastewater services, expansion of customer payment centres and the expanded vision contained in the Strategic Plan. Continuing, he warned:
"None of our proposals can be accomplished however, without the input of each and every person employed by the Authority. That is why it is important that as we enter our 40th year of existence we have embraced the theme,
"Celebrating Our Workforce, Our Achievements And Our Vision For The Future."
Chairman Barry Barnes attended the ceremony and joined our CEO in unveiling the Anniversary Logo to the rousing cheers of employees attending the ceremony.
