WASA honours customers to mark 40th anniversary
SPECIAL GIFT FOR CUSTOMER NO. 40 |
Lucky Ephraim Thompson (l) receives the Customer Appreciation gift basket from
Deputy General Manager, Luna Wright as CEO Errol Grimes looks on. |
Ephraim Thompson, 38, an Insurance Agent of Atherton Drive, Five Rivers, Arouca got his "biggest surprise in a long time," while paying his WASA bill at the Authority's Head Office on February 25.
There he was at the Cashier's Booth at around 9:15 a.m. Suddenly, the sound of Road March King Sherwin Winchester's Wanted Dead or Alive broke the serenity of the Customer Service Department.
Then, came a rhythmic chant from a group of Team WASA

employees.
People cheered and looked at him with beaming smiles.
He looked around quizzically until WASA's Corporate
Communications Manager, Karen Smart, dispelled his obvious
bewilderment:
"Today," she told him,
"is Customer Appreciation Day at this office in celebration of our 40th anniversary and you are the fortieth customer to pay a bill so we have a special gift for you!"
"O… Oh, thank you," he stuttered as Luna Wright, Deputy General Manager (Finance) in charge of Customer Business Services stepped up to present him with a gift basket containing a
range of items inclusive of an inscribed

cooler and coaster. He was heartily congratulated by CEO Errol Grimes who interrupted his busy schedule to say hello.
"I really didn't expect anything like this," Mr. Thompson said. "I was waiting for someone and just decided to kill some time by paying my bill," he added.
Mr. Thompson became a WASA customer 10 years ago when he moved into his own home in Five Rivers.
"Over the past year both water quality and service have improved considerably and I am receiving a more regular supply," he said.
On paying their bills, other customers were presented with commemorative gifts consisting of mugs and pen sets.
Neighbouring companies, Nestle Trinidad & Tobago Ltd., Flavorite Foods and Bermudez Biscuit Company teamed with WASA in making a success of the Authority’s Customer Appreciation Day on February 25.
Customers enjoyed Tea & coffee (Nestle); Lollies (Flavorite Foods) and sweet biscuits (Bermudez) plus snack plates. |

| CHANGE OF MIND PAYS OFF FOR THIS CUSTOMER |
Who can fathom the working of the mind? The subconscious often leads an individual to pursue a particular course of action that ultimately impacts either positively or negatively on that person's life or that of another.
Love has blossomed… war waged… and the wealthy pauperized by one instinctive action.
It was that unknown factor that resulted in Dominic Samaroo being the 40th bill-paying WASA customer which earned him top honours in the Customer Appreciation Day (CAD) promotion at
the Chaguanas Customer Service Centre on March 1. The promotion

was part
of the Authority's 40th year anniversary celebration. The 40th bill-paying customer is presented with a special prize at any office where CAD is observed.
Samaroo, who lives in Mayo Village, entered the office, looked at the line of persons queuing to pay their bills and walked out. He returned shortly afterwards and joined the line.
As he got nearer to the cashier, the customer immediately ahead of him left the line to speak to someone.
He was actually the 40th customer, unknowing to him. Therefore that lucky position went to Samaroo who, on presenting his bill and cash, was greeted with the news that he was winner of a 40th anniversary gift. As the elders counseled: what is for you is for you!
Corporate Communications Manager Karen Smart presented a happily smiling Dominic Samaroo with a gift basket containing mainly memorabilia such as mug, pen set, water cooler and coasters inscribed with the WASA 40th anniversary Logo. |
Pt. Fortin’s Customer of the Day
