Water and Sewerage Authority has established several international affiliations aimed at capacity building and well as contributing other inputs critical to the sustainability of the water and wastewater sector. These include:
  • The Society for Human Resource Management (SHERMA)
  • The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD)
  • The American Waterworks Association (AWWA)
  • The Water Environment Federation (WEF)
  • The Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Arma (Records Management)
  • The Human Resource Planning Society (HRPS)
  • Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA)

As recent as July 2007, the Water and Sewerage Authority signed a Cooperation Agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) – IHE, Institute of Water Education, Delft, Netherlands.

Regionally, the Authority is affiliated with the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA). Additionally, under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2006 between WASA and the National Water Commission of Jamaica, in 2006, the stage was set for key personnel to benefit from technical exchange programmes.
