STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT
|
- Customer can visit any Ratepayer Centre and request a statement of account. An account number must be provided.
- All requests take one week to process
- Cost of statement for current year is $5.75 and $17.25 per year for years prior to 1997.

COPIES OF RECEIPTS
|
- Some customers pay rates and subsequently lose their receipts. Copies of these receipts can be requested at any Ratepayer Center.
- Customer must provide account number, date of payment and amount paid.
- Cost per receipt - $5.75.

CHANGE OF POASTAL ADDRESS
|
|
Customers can have their mailing addresses changed by filling out a form at any Ratepayer Centre. The changes are made directly to CIS by the counter staff. There is no cost attached to this service.

CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP TITLE
|
- Customer must visit any of the Ratepayer Centres and bring along a Certificate of Assessment (not more than 3 months old) bearing the new owners’ names.
- Customer must also fill out a form requesting the change.
- The change is made directly to CIS.

CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES
|

Definition
|
A Clearance Certificate is a document issued by the Authority, which states in effect that, all outstanding rates and charges on a specific account have been liquidated up to a specific billing period.
This certificate is considered a legal document by all Financial Institutions.
It is mandatory that all necessary checks be done before the certificate is issued.
Clearance Certificates may be requested for the following reasons:
- Sale of property
- Purchase of property
- Property Mortgage
Adjustments are the responsibility of the Customer Business Services Department. These adjustments are done directly to the Customer Information System (CIS).

- Certificate of assessment not more than three months old (can be obtained from the Warden’s Office)
- Payment of a Clearance Fee and all outstanding rates
