Service Interruption to parts of North Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in North Trinidad served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, who are experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that, as at 6:00 a.m. this morning – Thursday 20th December 2018, repairs to the blown air valve along the 48 inch diameter Caroni North Transmission Main, Piarco, was still in progress.

This is due to further damage at this point beyond what was initially anticipated.

Ongoing emergency repair works are now expected to be completed by 8:00 p.m. on Thursday 20th December, 2018.

The affected areas include the following:

  • Morvant
  • Gonzales
  • St. Augustine
  • Mt Dor
  • Bamboo
  • El Socorro
  • Port of Spain
  • Santa Cruz
  • Laventille
  • Belmont
  • Curepe
  • Petit Bourg
  • Mt. Hope Hospital
  • San Juan
  • St. James
  • Barataria
  • Beetham Gardens
  • Cascade
  • Champ Fleurs
  • Valsayn South
  • Aranguez

Customers are further advised to manage their stored water efficiently, as it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas. For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.
