The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) wishes to advise customers in the Mayaro/ Tableland area, who recently have been experiencing an irregular pipe borne water supply that it is working to regularize the service. The irregularity in supply has been due to a combination of distribution pipeline network issues that include broken pipelines along the Naparima/Mayaro Road, which impacted the supply to the Tableland area in particular.

As a result of this situation, the water supply into the Tableland area was extended beyond the normal timeframe, to ensure that customers at the extremities of the distribution system i.e. between LP 614 to 642 Naparima/Mayaro Road received a supply. As a consequence of this, the supply to the Mayaro area was delayed beyond the normal scheduled rotation.

The Authority is currently taking steps to return the affected areas to the usual scheduled rotation, with the supply currently on to the Union, Bristol and Mafeking areas. Other parts of Mayaro will receive a supply as follows:

The Authority continues to liaise with local government representatives and other stakeholders in various areas, to provide a truck borne water service to supplement the pipe borne water supply to customers. For further information or assistance, customers can also contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.

The Authority apologises for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
