DISRUPTION IN SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS
SERVED BY HOLLIS RESERVOIR

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of D’Abadie and Arouca served by the Hollis Water Treatment Plant, who are still experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply, following repairs to a ruptured 24 inch diameter transmission on Monday 15th June 2020, that every effort is being made to have their service restored at the earliest possible time.

It should be noted that with the Hollis Reservoir currently reduced to approximately 16% storage capacity following the harsh Dry Season, production at the facility has been reduced from the normal 8.4 million gallons per day (mgd) to 4 mgd at present. This situation has led to the slower normalization of the system, following completion of emergency repair works. The Authority has been redirecting water from its Caroni and Tacarigua Water Treatment Plants, in order to assist with the restoration of supply to the remaining affected areas over the next 12 to 18 hours.

The areas still affected include:

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
