NORTH OROPOUCHE
WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of North East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant that there will be a disruption in their water supply on Thursday 15th January 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This has become necessary in order to carry out desilting works at the raw water intake to improve the efficiency of operations at the facility.

Areas to be affected include:

  • Sangre Grande
  • Manzanilla
  • Guaico/Guaico Tamana
  • Tumpuna Road
  • Brazil
  • Carapo/O’Meara Road
  • Maloney Gardens
  • Oropune Gardens
  • Sunrise Park
  • Sangre Chiquito
  • Coalmine
  • Malabar Phases 1,3 & 4
  • San Rafael
  • La Horquetta
  • Signature Park/Mausica Road
  • Five Rivers
  • Millennium Park
  • Golden Grove Road

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the pipe borne water supply to normalize to some areas after the facility returns to operation.

A limited truck borne service will be available with priority to Health Institutions, Government Agencies and Homes for the Aged. For further information or assistance, customers can also contact WASA's Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26.
