WASA PLANTS AFFECTED BY ADVERSE WEATHER

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers that as at 9:00 a.m. today – Saturday 4th September 2021, several of its Water Treatment Plants (WTP) in various areas throughout Trinidad, continue to be impacted by power failure and turbid river conditions, due to adverse weather over the past 36 hours.

The facilities still impacted include:

North East:

  • North Oropouche WTP
  • Matura WTP
  • Cumuto WTP
  • Luengo & Naranjo WTP
  • Hollis WTP
  • Aripo WTP
  • Quare WTP

North West:

  • Tyrico WTP
  • Blanchisseuse
  • Las Cuevas WTP
  • La Fillette WTP
  • Rincon

South:

  • Biche WTP
  • St Joseph Booster
  • Chatham Wells #7 and 10
  • Stonebright WTP
  • Mayaro Wells #8, 9 and 13

Tobago:

  • Bloody Bay WTP

The Authority continues to work closely with the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) in relation to the facilities affected by power failure, while the facilities affected by turbid and flooded river conditions are expected to return to service when river conditions normalize at those locations.

Customers are advised to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize to some areas, in accordance with pipe borne water supply schedules.
