The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in Central and South-West Trinidad, currently affected by the reduction in production from the Point Lisas Desalination Plant that there has been a delay in the completion of repair works at the facility.

The Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Desalcott), has advised the Authority that production at the Plant is now 23 million gallons per day (Mgd) which is expected to increase to 36 Mgd tomorrow, Monday 13th December 2021 and will be ramped up to full production of 40 Mgd on Tuesday 14th December 2021.

Customers are therefore asked to manage their stored water use efficiently, as it may take up to 48 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused as a result of this situation at the Desalination Plant.
