SERVICE DISRUPTION

LEAKING 42” TRANSMISSION PIPELINE DISRUPTS SUPPLY TO PARTS OF NORTH EAST TRINIDAD

Customers in parts of North East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant are advised that a leak has been found on the 42 inch transmission pipeline off the Plant, located in the cross-country area of Valencia. The leak, which is located in the vicinity of a river, appears to have resulted from the erosion and slippage in the area associated with recent rainfall.

The Authority is currently mobilizing equipment and materials to commence extensive repair works, which will require operations at the North Oropouche Plant to be stopped from 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday 23rd August to 10:00 p.m. on Friday 26th August, 2022.
