ADVISORY: DISCOLOURED SUPPLY TO PARTS OF CENTRAL

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Central Trinidad, who may be experiencing discolouration in their water supply that, this is due to pipeline scouring caused by additional valving operations, associated with the Point Lisas Desal shutdown.

The Authority is currently carrying out flushing exercises along the distribution system, in order to minimize the occurrence of further discolouration over the duration of the shutdown.

Among the areas affected include:

Caroni, Warrenville, Cunupia, Chaguanas, Caparo, Chase village, Couva, Pt Lisas, California, Claxton Bay.

The Authority advises customers who may be receiving a discoloured supply, to let their taps run until it clears.
