SERVICE DISRUPTION

SERVICE DISRUPTION TO CUSTOMERS SERVED BY TOMPIRE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Toco and environs served by the Tompire Water Treatment Plant who are currently experiencing low water pressures or disruptions in their water supply over the past two weeks that this is due to the persistent heavy rainfall which has impacted operations at the Authority’s facility.

The Authority is currently carrying out flushing exercises along the distribution system, in order to minimize the occurrence of further discolouration over the duration of the shutdown.

In addition, surface water run-off from the Northern region has resulted in high turbidity levels at the river courses, which has further impacted operations at the facility. The Authority is currently monitoring river conditions whilst simultaneously engaging in restorative works to bring the facility back into operation at the earliest possible time.

A limited truck-borne water service will be available upon request. This can be requested through the following self-service options:

  • Use of the mobile WASA Services App which can be downloaded for Android mobile customers from the Play Store or iPhone mobile customers from the Apple store; or

  • Use of the Customer Portal available on the Authority’s website:

  • Alternatively, customers requiring direct assistance or further information can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26.
