SERVICE DISRUPTION

REPAIRS TO 21” PIPELINE AT ST. JAMES POLICE ACADEMY ARE NOW COMPLETE

The Water and Sewerage Authority, (the Authority), advises customers in parts of St. James and environs, that restorative works to a leaking 21” pipeline located on the compound of the Police Academy, Western Main Road, St. James, are now complete.

The complex nature of the works which required supply isolation, the de-energizing of an underground power line and removal of concrete infrastructure, were further delayed by persistent rainfall which slowed the mobilization of heavy equipment.

Repairs were completed at 4:00 a.m. and the system gradually charged with full service restored at 9:00 a.m., Sunday 6th November 2022.

Customers are advised that it may take up to 24hrs for service to be restored to some areas in accordance with established supply schedules.

The Authority thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
